Always a pleasure jamming with my buddy Alejandro! When he reached out to ask if I could help with some of the fluid simulations for this project, I couldn't say no. The creative direction that he had in mind was just too good not to jump on board! It was a great chance to utilize a lot of the new fluid simulation skills I had picked up from various courses I had taken earlier in the year. The piece reflects on the artist struggle with burning out and finding their creative inspiration once again. Thank you Alejandro for bringing me on this beast of a project!
A quote taken from Alejandro's website: "The piece explores the complex relationship between time and creativity, using symbolism such as a white canvas, vibrant flowers, menacing snakes, and crystals. It delves into the artist's journey from potentiality to creation, encountering challenges and limitations along the way. Fear and time are depicted as omnipresent forces driving artistic growth, while introspection and reflection play crucial roles in the creative process. The artwork culminates in the imagery of a ticking clock fracturing to reveal a crystal, symbolizing the transformative power of overcoming constraints to achieve artistic expression and innovation."
